Our Firm Structure Coverage Approach Principles

InvestPro is a Vietnam-based advisory group operating across consulting, legal counsel, and intellectual property. Since 1998, the firm has served foreign investors, multinational corporations, and domestic enterprises navigating Vietnam's commercial and regulatory landscape.

The firm was established at a pivotal moment in Vietnam's economic development. The Doi Moi reforms had opened the economy to foreign investment, but the advisory infrastructure had not kept pace. Clients entering Vietnam encountered a fragmented landscape: lawyers who did not understand commercial strategy, consultants who could not assess regulatory risk, and IP specialists disconnected from both. InvestPro was built to unify these capabilities under one standard of care.

History

Twenty-five years in Vietnam

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh founded InvestPro in Hanoi in 1998, drawing on her experience in both government and private legal practice. She observed that foreign investors entering Vietnam faced a consistent problem: they received competent legal advice, competent commercial advice, and competent regulatory guidance, but almost never from advisors who understood how these domains intersected. The result was delayed transactions, missed opportunities, and costly misunderstandings.

The firm's early work focused on foreign direct investment structuring — helping multinational manufacturers establish operations in Vietnam during the first wave of post-Doi Moi industrialisation. By the early 2000s, InvestPro had expanded into M&A advisory, supporting European and Korean conglomerates acquiring Vietnamese assets. The legal practice formalised as InvestPro Law Firm in 2005, and the IP practice followed as InvestPro & Associates in 2010.

Each expansion was driven by client demand, not growth for its own sake. When clients needed patent prosecution, the firm built IP capacity. When they needed dispute resolution, the firm recruited litigators. When they needed fundraising support, the firm developed advisory relationships with regional private equity and debt providers. The three entities that exist today are the product of this client-driven evolution.

Scale

Who we serve

InvestPro's client base spans manufacturing, technology, healthcare, energy, consumer goods, financial services, and real estate. The firm has advised on market entry strategies for Fortune 500 companies, facilitated acquisitions by mid-market private equity funds, and supported early-stage ventures raising Series A and B capital in Vietnam.

The firm's work is not concentrated in a single sector or transaction type. This diversity is intentional. Vietnam's regulatory framework is interconnected across industries — a labour law change affects manufacturers and technology companies alike; a tax incentive revision benefits both real estate developers and renewable energy investors. Cross-sector experience enables InvestPro to identify patterns and anticipate regulatory shifts before they become mainstream knowledge.

Advisory work is conducted with full nationwide coverage. While the headquarters is in Hanoi, the firm maintains active working relationships with provincial authorities, industrial zone developers, and local counsel in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Binh Duong. This matters because regulatory interpretation, provincial incentive programmes, and local government relationships vary significantly by location. A strategy that works in one region may require material adjustment for another.

Model

Why three entities

InvestPro operates through three distinct but coordinated entities: InvestPro Consulting, InvestPro Law Firm, and InvestPro & Associates. This structure is not a branding exercise. It reflects the reality that each discipline is regulated differently, requires different professional qualifications, and carries different liability frameworks.

The separation protects clients. Legal advice is provided by admitted attorneys bound by bar association rules. IP prosecution is conducted by registered patent and trademark attorneys before the National Office of Intellectual Property. Consulting advice is delivered by advisors with no legal monopoly but deep commercial expertise. When these functions are blurred — as they often are in generalist firms — the client bears the risk of unqualified advice being presented as professional counsel.

The coordination happens at the engagement level, not the entity level. When a client engages InvestPro for a complex transaction, the consulting advisor, legal counsel, and IP specialist work from a single engagement plan, share a single timeline, and report to a single managing advisor. The client receives coordinated advice without managing multiple external relationships.
